L-Shaped Rooms
For L-shaped rooms, divide the room into two rectangles:
- Calculate each rectangle's area separately
- Add them together
Irregular Rooms
- Break the room into smaller geometric shapes
- Calculate each shape's area
- Sum the total

Tips for Accurate Measurements
- Use a laser measure for the most accurate readings
- For large rooms, measure twice to be sure
- Include alcoves and bay windows in your measurements
- For flooring, add 10% extra for cuts and waste
- When measuring for paint, consider wall height (we'll add a paint calculator soon!)
